Biography

Waseem Munir is a Mental Health Counsellor at the Khalil Center. He studied Islamic Sciences for six years at the Academy of Sacred Knowledge, Darul-Uloom Canada, developing a strong foundation in traditional learning before pursuing his path in mental health. He completed his Bachelor of Social Work at Toronto Metropolitan University and has since completed his Master of Social Work at York University.

Waseem has worked extensively in the non-profit sector, designing and delivering programs that provide holistic and culturally informed support for young adults. His experience also includes serving as a crisis line volunteer, offering mental health support to Muslim communities across North America.

Integrating Islamic principles and values into his therapeutic framework, Waseem focuses on creating a space that honours his clients’ spiritual, cultural, and emotional realities. His approach is warm, reflective, and spiritually attuned, allowing clients to explore their concerns in a grounded and meaningful way.

Waseem works with individuals across different life stages, with a particular interest in supporting young adults and older adults. As a clinician, he continues to expand his training and incorporate diverse therapeutic modalities to best meet the unique needs of his clients.
